Tailgate Springs are a helical or spiral coil that store energy when twisted. Once twisted, resistance is applied in the direction of the wind (either left or right).

This force twists the coils tighter, in turn reducing the spring diameter and making the body longer.

(popularly used for eg. horsefloat,car trailer or equimpment ramps, subject to weight)

  • 13mm dia. rod   (rear view left side short horizontal, right side long leg up)
  • Coil OD approx. 75mm.
  • Coil ID   approx. 50mm
  • Coil width approx 135mm.
  • Short leg length approx.130mm out from the coil.
  • Long leg Length up from bottom of loop approx. 570mm (Short)
